Ghosts and restless spirits. Ever since I was a young whippersnapper, I’ve been fascinated with the idea of ghosts. I would read ghost stories well into the night, then not be able to sleep, because I’d scared myself silly. But that didn’t stop me. My impressionable and highly imaginative mind couldn’t get enough of these stories.
The first book I remember reading (over and over) was The Lively Ghosts of Ireland by Hans Holzer (published in 1967). I have many of Holzer books on my Kindle, along with other books about ghosts and spirits.
Wikipedia lists 101 books to Holzer’s credit. Honestly, I haven’t read them all, and I don’t plan to, as not all of the topics interest me. If you’re looking for a place to begin reading about ghosts, Hans Holzer may be your source.
Here are two pictures of some of the ghost books in my collection.
I’d love to have ghost book recommendations. If you’re unable to leave a comment here, which is what typically happens, you’re welcomed to comment on this post on Facebook.
