Bloganuary Writing Prompt Day 21: The year I would time-travel to and why – #bloganuary #wordpress #constitutionalconvention

If I could time-travel (and remain completely safe, healthy, and not be terribly inconvenienced) I would go back to the year 1787 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Specifically, I would be in Philadelphia from May through September for what we now refer to as the Constitutional Convention, aka Federal Convention, Philadelphia Convention, or Grand Convention at Philadelphia.

To be in the company of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, to drop just a few names, during that historic summer would be an amazing experience.

Of course, I’d want to be in attendance at the Pennsylvania State House (now Independence Hall) every single minute of the convention, which would present logistical challenges, but I’m resourceful. I’d figure out how to be in the room where it happened.

This is me and Alexander Hamilton in 2009 in Signer’s Hall in Philadelphia.

    1. Yes! Both the book and the miniseries “John Adams” were outstanding. Giamatti and Linney were perfectly cast in the movie.
