Jelly Roll
-breakfast or dessert –
This is my maternal grandmother’s recipe. I’ve never been satisfied with how the jelly roll turned out. For all I know, maybe the planets weren’t in proper alignment or the moon was in the wrong phase or I didn’t hold my tongue just right. Whatever the reasons, there are a plethora of jelly roll recipes on the Internet that will likely offer a more pleasant jelly roll-baking endeavor than this recipe.

I like it! A recipe that you just aren’t satisfied with! I once made a great grandmother recipe that involved canned mushroom soup, a “15 cent bag of potato chips” and tuna. My children tasted it, regarded it with horror, and urged me to never make it again. I copied the recipe from my mother’s cookbook, along with the commend “Better than it sounds.” We didn’t think so.
hahahaha “Better than it sounds” hahaha. I think I’ve made a rendition of that recipe, too. It called for cream of celery soup instead of mushroom soup along with tuna and a box of macaroni and cheese. It’s ‘meh”, but edible.
