For today’s #JusJoJan word prompt, gratitude, I puzzled over the difference between grateful and gratitude. I think there is a subtle nuance that separates them, so I consulted dictionaries for their respective meanings.
The definitions for grateful and gratitude are:
- synonymous words that can be used interchangeably according to stylistic preference,
- grateful (adjective) – the state of wanting to thank someone for something they’ve done for you or given to you, and
- gratitude (noun) – the feeling of being grateful to someone for what they’ve done for you or given to you.

I found this image when I looked for a visual to include with this post. It expresses what gratitude means to me. For that, I am grateful. 😉
