If I’m fudging the rules by sharing two pictures, I’ll beg forgiveness since they are of the same phenomenon. 😉
I took these pictures at 2:00 a.m. on Feb. 3, 2022 from my back and front steps in Springfield, Colorado. The left picture is looking northeast. The right picture is northwest. These are called snow pillars or light pillars. It happens when light reflects off the surface of falling ice crystals near the ground.
