I took this picture of my grandsons (brothers) at their house in May 2018. They were watching their dad scoop up on the end of a shovel, and carry off, a large bull snake that was determined to crawl down into the basement window well…again.
They did a fair amount of oohing, aahing, and squealing by the time the snake was carried off an acceptable distance from the house and released into an alfalfa field. 😉

They certainly are paying attention to the proceedings. Cute shot and no doubt a great photographic memory!
That particular spring and then on throughout the summer was a nearly daily encounter with bull snakes and a couple of rattlesnakes. It was particularly hot and dry, and the cool, green yard grass around the house was a Siren call to snakes.
