For Throwback Thursday, let’s travel back to 1978 when President Jimmy Carter signed the declaration creating Grandparent’s Day to be the first Sunday after Labor Day.
This year’s Grandparent’s Day is Sunday, September 10th. To give that day a bit of celebration, I offer my novelette (a fancy schmancy term for the oxymoron ‘long short story’), A Permanent Woman, for your reading enjoyment.
The story is available on Amazon. Click to go to Amazon >>> A Permanent Woman is $0.99 or KindleUnlimited (free)
The year is 1879. The story involves a widowed grandfather who has to show up legally married in order to claim custody of his three orphaned grandchildren. With no marriage prospects in sight, the man advertises for a mail-order bride.
This is a quick read with a happy ever after ending, and a storyline appropriate for grandparents of all ages. 🙂
Until next time,
Kaye Spencer
