Linda G. Hill’s Stream of Consciousness prompt on Saturday (9/16), was to use ‘run’. After I wrote my contribution, I tumbled down a ‘run’ rabbit hole that seems appropriate for today’s Monday Musings. Here’s my running commentary. 😉
During my lifetime, I have...
- run dry
- run solo
- run into
- run away
- run across
- run to you
- run a bath
- run a mile
- run scared
- run aground
- run rampant
- run from you
- run for cover
- run up against
- run a gauntlet
- run a red light
- run for my life
- run a tight ship
- run out of ideas
- run up a bar tab
- run out of steam
- run with scissors
- run out of energy
- run over the limit
- run down the road
- run into a brick wall
- run around in circles
- run but couldn’t hide
- run amok but not afoul
- run through a sprinkler
- run with sketchy people
- run through a field of clover
- run a fever and a temperature
- run thoroughbred racehorses
- run a toddler around the yard
- run around like a chicken with its head cut off
- run out of parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme
- run out of money, gasoline, patience, and time
- run barefoot through snow, mud, sand, and grass
- run bootlegged Coors beer east of the Mississippi River

I have also…
- felt run down
- made a dry run
- made a good run
- been run ragged
- made a run for it
- turned tail and run
- been run roughshod over
- had runners in my nylons
- told runners “On your mark!”
- made someone’s blood run cold
I have never hit a home run, been on the run, run with the bulls, or run for the hills.
And I count as a personal and positive character trait that I have never run for political office.
Until next time,
